Celebrating the Life of Shirley Davenport Davis
Shirley Ruth Davenport Davis, 64, peacefully passed away on January 22, 2024, in Hammond, LA. Born on April 9, 1959, in Stuttgart, AR, she was the beloved first daughter of David and Frances Davenport. Shirley's love for riding horses and hunting was evident from a young age. She had a passion for making delicious salsa and wonderful strawberry jelly. Above all, Shirley cherished her grandchildren, always going above and beyond for them. She met the love of her life, Sam Davis, in Monroe, AR, and they were inseparable for 46 years. Her cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of her beloved husband, Sam, her children Veronica Melancon, Damien (Christy) Davis, Chelsea (Bobby) Davis, her mother Frances Hawkins Davenport, her brother Rodney (Kaye) Davenport, her sisters Connie (Raymond) Pena and Pam (Danny) Myers, and her adored grandchildren Terren, Noah, Heath, Damon, Emma, Izabella, and Bubba. Join us in honoring Shirley's life at Fowler Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2024, with a funeral service at 12:00 pm, preceded by visitation. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at White Church Cemetery in Rich, AR.
In Loving Memory of Stephen Dale Sandine
Stephen Dale Sandine, a beloved son, husband, father, and friend, left us on January 18, 2024, at the age of 54. Born on September 17, 1969, in Stuttgart, AR, Stephen grew up with a passion for the great outdoors. He proudly served in the airborne division during his time in the army. Stephen married Karen Stokes in 1998, and together they had two children, Cameron and Haleigh. With a career as a truck driver, he dedicated himself to providing for his family. Stephen's love for fishing, hunting, and riding his four-wheeler was a testament to his adventurous spirit. He enjoyed making everyone around him laugh with his playful jokes. Stephen's legacy will be forever cherished by his son Cameron (Haley), his daughter Haleigh, his mother Bonnie (Joseph) Mack, his brothers Alan and Jason (Sharon), and his extended family and friends. A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date. In memory of Stephen, contributions can be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Center.
Remembering Elizabeth 'Liz' Lucy
Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Lucy, 60, departed from us on January 18, 2024, in Brinkley, Arkansas. Born on November 27, 1963, in Truman, AR, Liz was full of vibrant energy and a love for spending time with her family. One of her favorite pastimes was exploring flea markets in Greenbriar with her sisters, followed by a delicious Chinese meal. Liz had a knack for adventure, often turning the simplest activities into thrilling experiences. Her mischievous nature even included a memorable incident involving firecrackers. Liz's spirited presence will be greatly missed. She is survived by her siblings Martha (Dick) Reinke, Gary Lucy, Larry (Joyce) Lucy, Roger Lucy, Alfred (Jerilyn) Lucy, and Debbie (late Bill) Nethery, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Liz's memorial service will be held at Brown Funeral Home, Clarendon, on January 20th, at 2:00 pm.

David "Wayne" Davenport, 69, peacefully passed away on January 9th, 2024, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on January 5th, 1955, in Stuttgart, AR, Wayne lived a life surrounded by nature. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and tending to his bountiful vegetable gardens. Wayne was blessed with a loving and caring heart, always there to support his beloved mother in any way possible. Wayne's memory lives on through his daughter Ashley Davenport, his brother Rodney (Kaye) Davenport, his sisters Shirley (Sam) Davis, Connie (Raymond) Pena, and Pam (Danny) Myers, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Join us in honoring Wayne's life at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley on Friday, January 12th, with visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at noon. He will be laid to rest at White Church Cemetery in Rich.

Janice Faye Taylor, a beloved wife, mother, and "Nanny" to all who knew her, passed away on January 8th, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on October 5th, 1952, in Hughes, AR, Janice was the epitome of love and generosity. She welcomed everyone into her family, whether by blood or friendship. Her cooking was legendary, always prepared with love and seasonings. Janice's passion for life was evident in her love for paperback novels, exploring new places to eat with her husband, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 54 years, Billy Taylor, her son Christopher Wayne Taylor, her daughter Shannon (Robert) Fleming, her brother Larry (Linda) Latham, her sisters Barbara (Paul) Parker, Shirley (R.M.) Luke, and Freda Crestman, and her six grandchildren. We invite you to celebrate Janice's life at a memorial service on January 27th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at Fowler Funeral Home.
Remembering Betty Jo Miley
Betty Jo Miley, a loving and vibrant woman, passed away on November 21st, 2023, at her home in Derby, Kansas. Born on May 1st, 1929, in Bloomburg, Texas, she found her true love, Elmer J. Miley Jr., at a young age. They were married for 55 amazing years until his passing in 2003. Betty Jo dedicated herself to her family as a dedicated homemaker. She cherished the moments spent traveling, playing cards, and being surrounded by her loved ones. Her membership in the Hypsion Club in Cotton Plant brought her immense joy. While we mourn her loss, we celebrate the beautiful life Betty Jo lived. She is survived by her son Philip W. (Sandra K.) Miley, her daughter Amy (David) Courtney, and her four beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty Jo will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery, Brinkley, beside her late husband Elmer, during a graveside service on Tuesday, November 28th, at 11:00 am.

Alcid Kathleen Allen, a woman of wit and charm, passed away in the comfort of her home on November 13th, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on April 30th, 1943, in McClelland, Arkansas, Alcid found joy in sewing and quilting, often accompanied by the tunes of Elvis Presley and George Strait. She treasured the time spent with her beloved grandkids and cherished her friendships, especially those with Hadley Allen, MaKayla Clark, and Autumn Alderson. Alcid's career as a secretary at the Southern Compress Warehouse in Brinkley brought fulfillment to her life. She is survived by her sons Mark (Billie) and Joey (Debbie), her siblings Billy Ray Prince, Kay (Wayne) Townsend, Sandy King, Jimmy Prince, Connie Calliouet, Jackie Sanford, as well as her grandchildren and her cherished Dixon Boys. Join us in commemorating Alcid's life during her memorial service at Cotton Plant Baptist Church on Sunday, November 19th, at 1:00 pm.
