With a legacy of over 40 years, we strongly believe that providing a personalized and one-on-one service is the most profound way to assist individuals in honoring their loved ones. At the F/V RIPTIDE, a charter vessel operating from Pillar Point Harbor, we specialize in respectfully and economically memorializing your loved ones through scattering their ashes on the ocean. Our team empathizes with the challenges associated with this difficult time and works closely with each client to ensure their wishes are met. As an additional memento, our Captain can provide a commemorative Certificate, indicating the precise location (longitude & latitude) of the cremation dispersal, for a nominal fee of $10.

Owned and operated by Captain William Smith, we handle all arrangements directly, customizing the memorial to meet your individual needs. Captain Smitty, a seasoned charter skipper with over 35 years of experience operating boats in the local Bay Area harbors, personally oversees all aspects of our services. Our location at H-Dock in Pillar Point Harbor, near Half Moon Bay, California, provides easy accessibility for both drivers from the East, following Hwy. 92 West to Half Moon Bay and turning right onto Hwy. 1, as well as drivers from the North, taking Hwy. 1 South through Pacifica and turning right at the light at Capistrano Road.

Upon arrival at the harbor, you may conveniently drive out onto Johnson's Pier to H-Dock to drop off passengers and then return to the parking lot, where you can park all day for free. The Riptide is situated on the left at the base of the ramp at H-Dock Berth 1.

We offer a wide range of services to ensure a peaceful resting place for those you cherished. Our exclusive one-hour service reserves the boat solely for your group, creating a serene environment for scattering ashes upon the ocean. With our personal experiences in dealing with the loss of loved ones, we approach each client with empathy and sensitivity, working closely to fulfill their wishes during this challenging time. We are proud to hold all of the necessary permits and licenses required to disperse ashes at sea. These include the State of California Cremated Remains Disposer License (Number 476), U.S. Coast Guard Vessel Certification (Number 501216), and the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer (Number 843229) for Captain William E. Smith. In addition, we are members in good standing with Drug Testing Consultants. Rest assured, we are fully insured and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard to accommodate up to 20 passengers.
