With a profound dedication to service, Mr. Stewart was a highly respected community leader who actively supported the growth and development of local churches, businesses, and the community at large. His sponsorship of the local Baseball Little League inspired countless young individuals to strive for excellence. Furthermore, Mr. Stewart was affiliated with various professional and social organizations, including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (of which he was a life member), the National and California Funeral Director's and Embalmer's Associations (serving as President for both organizations), and the Victoria Consistory #35 of Oakland, California. He was also a member of the Menelik Temple #36 Order of Shriners, the International Rotary of Richmond, California, and the Black Business and Professional Men's Organization. Additionally, Mr. Stewart served as a Board Member for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, earning a Certificate of Honor as a Richmond Pioneer from the City of Richmond.

In honor of her father's memory, Ms. Lydia Stewart carries forward his legacy as the current owner and operator of Stewart's Rose Manor Funeral Service.
