The history of Bergin Funeral Home dates back to its founding by Martin Bergin in 1873. Initially, the business also sold stationery, school books, cards, religious items, newspapers, and periodicals, in addition to providing funeral services. Martin's sons, Thomas, Patrick, John, Martin Jr., and Daniel later joined him in the business, ensuring the continuation of the family legacy. Today, the Bergin Funeral Home is carried forward by the third generation, including Thomas's son, Martin, and Patrick’s sons, Stephen and Edward. Patrick's sons, Patrick, Edward Jr. (Mike), William, and Martin, also contribute to the family tradition of exceptional service.
