Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Inc. is the oldest funeral home in Delaware, established in 1831. Owned and operated by Robert M. and Alison M Timblin, our funeral home has been recently renovated and expanded to offer the largest and most modern facilities in the area.

Located in historic Smyrna, Delaware, our funeral home features a state-of-the-art funeral chapel with a seating capacity of over 250 persons. The chapel is beautifully decorated and equipped with a top-of-the-line sound system to ensure a meaningful and memorable service. Additionally, we have two large stained glass windows and two welcoming reception areas to provide comfort for families and guests.

We have made several updates to our funeral facility to enhance the funeral experience. Our newly expanded on-site parking lot offers easy access with three entrances. Furthermore, we have constructed a detached garage and storage facility with carriage lights and cedar siding, adding to the downtown historic charm of Smyrna. We are also proud to announce our new family-owned and operated crematorium, which is the only one of its kind in the greater Smyrna-Clayton area.

We are honored to have been selected as the best funeral home in the area for the past six consecutive years. However, after thoughtful consideration, we have chosen not to participate in the annual Gannett Media First State Favorites Campaign this year. We believe this campaign creates unnecessary competition among funeral homes and can lead to hard feelings and resentment. We value every funeral home in our community and believe that they all do an excellent job.
