For over 33 years, Goolsby Mortuary has been dedicated to serving the community with professionalism and compassion. Founded in 1977 by Thomas D. Goolsby Jr., a respected funeral service provider in Atlanta, our funeral home has always upheld a commitment to affordable prices and courteous service.

Thomas, a native of Atlanta and graduate of Washington High School, was licensed in 1966 and dedicated his career to helping families during their time of need. Since 1977, he has been joined by his wife, Lillie Goolsby, who has been a constant presence and a compassionate Lady Attendant. Lillie is also a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Clark College.

Passing the torch to the next generation, Thomas brought his son, Michael Goolsby, into the family business. Michael, a native of Atlanta and graduate of Clark College, The Atlanta University, and Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service, is a licensed funeral service provider just like his father.

Marie Goolsby, Michael's wife, is an integral part of our team serving as the corporate secretary and media relations specialist. She is a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and a licensed funeral service provider. Marie's dedication extends beyond our funeral home as she currently holds the position of State Director of Education and Research for the Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association, Inc.
