At Langston-Brown Funeral Service, we understand that during this challenging time, your family's wishes and requirements hold utmost importance. Established in 1966 by Mrs. Charlie Jane Mathis Langston and Mr. Charlie Edwards Matthews, this small family-owned funeral home has faithfully served the community for over 56 years.
Formerly known as Langston & Son Funeral Home, the legacy of Langston Funeral Home has endured through the years. Mrs. Charlie Jane Mathis Langston, a pioneer in her field, was not only an esteemed educator but also the first African American female to obtain a Funeral Director's License in Marion County. Sadly, she passed away in 2006 at the remarkable age of 103. Mr. Charlie Edward Matthews, a licensed funeral director and enterprising individual, joined her in serving the community until his passing in 2020.
