Since its establishment in the 1920s, Cotter Funeral Home has been a pillar of support for the families of Momence, Illinois and its surrounding area. Our firm's rich history dates back to the founding of Canaday Funeral Service by Raymon Canaday on Dixie Hwy. It was in the early 1940s that Mr. Canaday relocated his business to our present location, a historic building built in 1899 by the esteemed Dr. Burke.

In the 1950s, Bernard Boos partnered with Canaday Funeral Service and played a significant role in its growth and development. Following Mr. Canaday's retirement in 1964, Mr. Boos carried on the legacy, and in March of 1980, William L. Cotter became the proud owner of the funeral home. Under the Cotter family's ownership, the establishment was renamed Cotter Funeral Home, and we have been committed to upholding the values of quality, excellence, and hard work ever since.
