Our Story

The Weicht Funeral Home has been proudly owned and operated by six generations of the Weicht Family since its establishment in 1854. It all began when Leopold E. Weicht, an immigrant from Germany, founded the L.E. Weicht & Son Funeral Home, also known as Weicht's Undertaking Establishment. Over the years, the business expanded with the addition of Henry Weicht and the Angola Casket Company. Joseph Henry Weicht and his son Paul J. Weicht continued the family legacy, ensuring the utmost care and professionalism in serving the community.

Presently, the Weicht Funeral Home is under the capable leadership of Paul E. "Gene" Weicht, along with his wife Susan, and their children John J. Weicht and Beth Weicht Lee. They proudly represent the fifth and sixth generations of the family. The funeral home family also includes Christopher J. Burton, Funeral Director, and Jim Hulbert, Family and After Care Counselor. With deep-rooted values of dignity, courtesy, and respect, the Weicht family continues to provide exceptional service to our community.
