Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services has been a trusted pillar of the south-side, downtown, and greater Indianapolis Community since its establishment in 1896 by Anthony J. Lauck. Initially situated on S. Meridian Street and later relocated to its present location in the early 1920s by Anthony P. Lauck, A.J.'s son.

Our current facility was once part of a vast farm, stretching all the way back to West Street and the railroad tracks. The original section of the house was constructed in 1877, with subsequent additions in 1954 and 1960. These new additions were made by Leo Lauck, Sr., who played an active role in the funeral business and community until his passing in 1972. The chapel he added in 1960 was one of the largest at that time, accommodating up to 130 individuals. Following his father's footsteps, Leo Lauck, Jr. took over the family business in the early 1970s and continues to offer his assistance, even though the business was sold to Jeff Veldhof in 2010. Jeff Veldhof undertook a comprehensive renovation of the facility, bringing it up-to-date both inside and out.

We take great pride in providing comfort to families in their time of need. As a small family-owned firm, Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services places great importance on delivering personalized service and fostering a family-like atmosphere within our facility. Setting us apart from other funeral homes, we are dedicated to serving one family at a time. In keeping with tradition, Jeff Veldhof resides above the funeral home to enhance accessibility when needed.

At Lauck & Veldhof, we believe in being an active part of our community. Jeff is deeply involved in both St. Roch and Sacred Heart Churches, serving on the parish council at St. Roch. He actively contributes to the Old Southside Neighborhood Association as a board member and also serves as a block captain with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. Jeff has supported Roncalli High School as a past member of their board and held the position of Lieutenant Governor with the Indiana District of Kiwanis International. Currently, he serves as the Faithful Navigator of the Bishop Chatard Assembly/Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and was a former Grand Knight of the Msgr. James M. Downey Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, Council 3660. Jeff has also served as vice president for the Ancient Order of Hibernians for a period of two years.

Guiding families and providing them with the necessary expertise to make informed decisions before the need arises is of utmost importance to us. We strongly encourage Advanced Funeral Planning and offer this service without any cost or obligation. In terms of pricing, Lauck & Veldhof is proud to be one of the lower cost providers in Indianapolis. Our direct cremation is offered for $1,497.80 (tax included) when paid at the time of arrangements. If arrangements have been made elsewhere, we are more than happy to facilitate the transfer to our firm as permitted by law.

Rest assured knowing that we are here to help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our commitment to compassionate care and affordable options makes us an integral part of the community we serve.

    Sincerely,

    Owner & Funeral Director
