Our journey began when Mike Freeman moved to Shelby County in 1998, and shortly after, the Carmony-Ewing Funeral Homes evolved into Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory. In 2001, Mike took the opportunity to purchase the funeral home in Shelbyville, fulfilling his lifelong dream of owning a funeral home. A year later, the Frazier Funeral Home in Morristown was added under the Freeman Family Funeral Homes umbrella.

Over the years, we have continuously renovated and expanded our facilities, ensuring that our funeral homes provide a comfortable and serene environment for families during their time of need. To offer a unique final tribute, we acquired a motorcycle hearse in 2006, allowing families to celebrate their loved one's life with a special final ride of remembrance. We also rent out the motorcycle hearse to other funeral homes, assisting them in creating meaningful experiences for their families.

As our business grew, we welcomed Lana Freeman as our office manager and Ryan Haehl as a valued member of our team. Together, we strive to provide the most professional and personal services in the Shelby County area. Additionally, we introduced Shelby County's first crematories in 2008, offering both human and pet cremation services to the community.

In our commitment to serving the community, we added horse-drawn hearses in 2010, catering to both adults and children. Our LED message board, implemented in 2011, serves as a platform for displaying service times and community events. Supporting events in Shelby County remains an integral part of our mission.
