Our Story

Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory traces its roots back to the esteemed Carmony-Ewing Funeral Homes. In 1998, Mike Freeman, our current owner, relocated to Shelby County, and within a few years, the opportunity arose to acquire a funeral home in Shelbyville. In 2001, Mike successfully assumed ownership, making his dream of owning a funeral home a reality. The following year, he expanded further by purchasing the Frazier Funeral Home in Morristown. Both locations underwent extensive remodeling and additions to enhance our facilities.

We offer a variety of services, including traditional funeral services, cremation services, personalization options, and veterans services. Uniquely Honoring Loved Ones

In 2006, we proudly introduced the option of a motorcycle hearse from the Tombstone Hearse Company, allowing families to commemorate their loved ones with a special final ride. This hearse is also available for rent by other funeral homes, enabling them to offer their families the same opportunity. In 2008, we expanded our services further by becoming the first funeral home in Shelby County to offer both human and pet cremations.
