Roger Smith. With the purchase and renovation of the Gardner residence in Shelburne Falls in 1951, Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home expanded its reach in order to provide support to the local community during their most challenging times.

Under J. Roger's guidance, the funeral home quickly became a symbol of solace and comfort for families in need. J. Roger's son-in-law, Daniel M. Kelleher, joined the business in 1972, leading to a name change to the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home. Dan, along with his wife Pamela, continued the family legacy of serving their friends and neighbors during times of grief. Tragically, Dan's untimely passing in 1988 left the business in the hands of his family. Pamela and their son, Timothy, rose to the challenge by obtaining funeral service licensure from the New England Institute at Mt. Ida College. In 1998, Timothy expanded the funeral home's services by opening a new location in Greenfield, allowing the family to support the surrounding communities even further.

Today, the third generation of the Smith-Kelleher family carries on the tradition of providing compassionate care, dignity, and respect to families in the area. They understand the emotional challenges associated with loss, and strive to offer support, guidance, and understanding during these difficult times.
