Travis Funeral Chapel has been proudly serving La Plata, Missouri and surrounding communities since 1980. With our many years of experience, we understand the importance of providing compassionate and dignified funeral services during difficult times.
Most recently, we had the privilege of honoring the life of Rebecca "Becky" Jarboe Mohan, a beloved member of the community. Becky, aged 84, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home in La Plata. She leaves behind a loving husband, Thomas "Tom" Mohan, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Becky is also survived by her five children, Peggy Mohan, Tom (Nancy) Mohan, Mandy Herleth, Bridget (Robert) Hayden, and Michael (Marla) Mohan, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. We extend our deepest condolences to the Mohan family during this difficult time.
We were also honored to provide services for Cedric Drew Belt, who passed away on December 23, 2023, at his home in Atlanta, Missouri. Cedric was a remarkable individual, graduating from Macon High School in 2006 and the University of Missouri in 2010. He went on to attend graduate school at Lincoln University, where he excelled in baseball, receiving all conference honors. Cedric will be dearly missed by his loved ones and the community in which he made a significant impact.
In addition, we remember Betty E. Wilson, who passed away at the age of 88 in La Plata, Missouri. Born on December 1, 1935, Betty led a remarkable life and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She requested no services, but her memory will continue to be cherished by her family and friends.
Lena Fae Young, aged 96, also left us recently at La Plata Nursing Home on December 9, 2023. Lena was a beloved member of our community and was preceded in death by her husband Bill Young and her parents. We extend our sympathies to Lena's family and friends as they navigate through this challenging time.
Lastly, we mourn the loss of Raymond Lee Phipps, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 80. Raymond's legacy will live on through his loving wife, Karen Waddle, and his three daughters, Kimberly, Tonya, and Cindy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Phipps family as they grieve the loss of their beloved husband and father.
