In 1918, Wade C. Moody joined the funeral home as a janitor and caretaker of the funeral coach. After serving in World War I, Mr. Moody returned to Mount Airy and became a partner in the business. In 1920-21, Mr. Moody acquired the remaining portion of the funeral business, and it became known as the Nelson-Moody Funeral Home.

Today, Moody Funeral Services remains committed to upholding our legacy of compassion and professionalism.
