Our founder, Mr. James C. Lyerly, was born and raised in Rowan County. He pursued his education in the Rowan County Schools before earning his degrees from Catawba College and the prestigious Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Driven by his deep empathy for individuals and families during their most challenging moments, Mr. Lyerly aimed to create an environment where thoughtful services were provided with utmost care. This philosophy has become the cornerstone of our funeral home's legacy.

Today, we continue to honor Mr. Lyerly's vision under the leadership of his son, J. Brent Lyerly. Following in his father's footsteps, Mr. Brent Lyerly assumed the role of president of Lyerly Funeral Home upon his father's passing in 1987. With the same dedication and commitment to "Thoughtful Service," he has upheld the family tradition. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science himself, Mr. Brent Lyerly brings profound expertise to ensure that our clients receive the compassionate care they deserve.

Over the years, our funeral home has evolved, with expansions, renovations, and moves to accommodate the growing needs of our community.
