After its establishment in 1961, Metcalf Funeral Home operated as a privately-held family business until it was acquired by Prime Successions, a national funeral home chain, in 1992. However, the desire to serve the local community led to its return to local ownership in 2004 when it joined the esteemed Roper & Sons family. With this transition, two of the oldest names in the Lincoln funeral home community became united.
