Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery & Mausoleum is a place of eternal rest and reflection. Established in 1954, we are proud to be the first and only Memorial Park in Western Nebraska. Our unique concept came from the public's desire for a more park-like atmosphere, where everyone is equal with flat markers.
At Sunset Memorial Park, we provide interment services for traditional (casketed) burials as well as cremation options. Our privately operated cemetery offers flexibility in service offerings and is the only non-profit facility of its kind in the area.
With our beautiful gardens and the region's only Mausoleum, we provide a serene and peaceful environment for honoring and remembering your loved ones. We believe in preserving the dignity and memories of those who have passed on.
We also take great pride in honoring our Veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Join us for a ceremony on Monday, May 29, 2023, at our Garden of Meditation Veterans Court of Honor. It is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to these heroes and remember their sacrifice.
We kindly request that all visitors adhere to our cemetery guidelines to maintain the beauty and sanctity of the grounds. Floral arrangements and decorations should only be placed in approved vases attached to headstones. All other ground decorations, such as shepherds hooks or toys, are not allowed as they can become projectiles and cause harm.
Please note that Memorial Day decorations and potted plants are only permitted on grave sites 10 days before and after Memorial Day. Artificial flowers are allowed year-round in approved vases, and any decorations placed outside the permitted dates will be removed by our cemetery staff.
All monuments must be approved by Sunset Memorial Park prior to placement, ensuring they meet our requirements. We reserve the right to reject any monument that does not conform to our standards. Please be aware that there is a setting fee based on the square inches of the largest portion of the monument.
For any burials or entombments, an outer burial container or burial vault approved by the cemetery is required. We have specific urns and caskets for entombments in niches and mausoleums. Our dedicated cemetery staff will handle all burials, ensuring proper care and respect.
We have recently opened new areas for cremation benches, scattering, and memorialization. If you are interested in these options or have any questions, we invite you to contact us for more information.
At Sunset Memorial Park, we understand the importance of commemorating and honoring the lives of those who have passed. Our dedicated General Manager & Funeral Director, Josh Henne, and the entire Henne Family Funeral & Cremation Services team are here to assist you with compassion and professionalism.
