Located in the heart of downtown Ashland, in the historical district, the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home stands as a cherished beacon of tranquility. Built in 1867, our Victorian home at 313 Center Street boasts exquisite wrap-around flower beds, setting the stage for a truly unique and serene atmosphere.
For a remarkable 180 years, Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home has been a pillar of support in the Ashland community. Founded in 1841 by James and Nils Shaw in Savannah, our funeral home has witnessed the evolving needs of families in their most challenging times. In 1912, the home of Randolph Freer at 313 Center Street was acquired by Shaw, becoming the steadfast location of our funeral home. Thus, it became the very first "funeral home" in Ashland County, replacing the tradition of holding services and visitations in the comfort of one's own home.
Adhering to the profound legacy imparted to us by our predecessors, we uphold our sacred duty of guiding families with the utmost compassion, respect, and dignity. Recognizing the shifting landscape of familial needs, we have incorporated modern trends and conveniences. Our facilities offer memorial videos, live stream capabilities, an onsite crematory, and a reception center, ensuring that every aspect of your memorialization is thoughtfully attended to.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ashland community for entrusting us with the privilege of serving your families during their most grievous moments.
With an understanding that paying respects in person may not always be feasible due to various constraints, we hope to bridge this divide.
