A Legacy of Local Compassion:

Nein Funeral Home has a rich history dating back to 1922 when Raymond C. Nein first established his funeral business in Camden, Ohio. With a commitment to serving the community, he quickly became a trusted figure on South Main Street.

Recognizing the need for a larger facility, Mr. Nein relocated the funeral home and his own family to its present location at 249 North Main Street in 1935. This move solidified Nein Funeral Home as a cornerstone of support in Camden.

The legacy of Nein Funeral Home was further strengthened when William Nein joined the business in 1950, followed by his son-in-law, Willard Moss, Jr., in 1951. With this new partnership, the funeral home was renamed R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, signifying the family's unwavering dedication to the community. Although R.C. Nein's passing in 1955 was a tragic loss, William Nein and Willard Moss continued to operate the business together, providing steadfast support to the Camden area for over four decades.

In 1991, a significant transition occurred when Willard Moss assumed sole ownership of the funeral home. He faithfully served the Camden community for more than 44 years until his passing in 1995. Following his death, Barbara (Nein) Moss, Willard's wife, assumed ownership and carried forward the family's legacy until her own passing in 1999.

In 2002, the Moss family made the difficult decision to sell the business, signaling a new chapter for Nein Funeral Home. The Barnes family of Eaton, Ohio, began managing the funeral home in March 2006, upholding the tradition of compassionate service.

In 2016, Derek and Eshelle Bales assumed ownership, building upon the strong foundation laid by the Nein family. Today, we proudly carry forward the legacy of care, compassion, and unwavering dedication that the Nein family began many years ago.
