A graduate of Carbondale Area School District, Joe furthered his education at Penn State University and the prestigious Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, New York. Following his studies, Joe gained invaluable experience through internships and positions in Syracuse, Scranton, and Carbondale. Today, he holds licenses as a funeral director in both Pennsylvania and New York, showcasing his dedication to serving families in the region.

In addition to his funeral directorship, Joe is a licensed insurance agent for funeral pre-planning. This additional qualification enables him to provide comprehensive and thoughtful support to individuals and families when making important end-of-life arrangements.

Adjacent to our main location on Main Street in Simpson is the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas Funeral Home, skillfully managed by Alice M. Scotchlas, also a licensed funeral director.
