In the late 1940s, Karl Edward Guss, after serving in the United States Army, joined the family business. Following the passing of his father in 1956, Karl Edward, or "Eddie" as he was fondly known, took over the funeral home alongside his mother, Grace Heisey Guss. In 1982, Eddie's daughter Barbara, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Administration and a director's license, joined the family business, furthering the legacy.
