About Us: Evans Mortuary, located in Rockwood, Tennessee, has been serving the community and surrounding areas with compassion and professionalism since 1976. Established by Thomas R. "Butch" Evans Jr., who had a deep-rooted passion for the funeral industry, our funeral home has become a trusted name in providing exceptional service and support during times of grief. Butch Evans attended John A. Gupton College in Nashville and graduated in 1970 before opening his own business in November 1976. Alongside his funeral home responsibilities, Butch also served as the county coroner and provided convalescent ambulance services. Throughout the years, our commitment to meeting families' needs has been unwavering, earning the trust of the Rockwood community.

In December of 2020, Thomas Aylor Evans, the son of Butch Evans, took over the business after the unexpected passing of his mother, Hyda R. Evans. Aylor grew up surrounded by the funeral industry and carries on the traditions and standards of excellence instilled by his father. With his educational background, including graduating from John A. Gupton College in 2017, Aylor is dedicated to upholding the legacy of Evans Mortuary for many years to come.
