Our story began in 1902, when Mr. E. A. Hannah and his wife arrived in Mount Airy to establish a business as a harness and coffin dealer. In 1915, Wade C. Moody joined the team as a janitor and handler of the funeral coach. After serving in World War I, Moody returned to Mount Airy and eventually became the owner of the funeral business, which later became known as the Nelson-Moody Funeral Home.
