Situated on the outskirts of downtown Charleston, our locally owned and operated cemetery has been a cherished part of the community since the early 1900s. In 1956, Roy B. Sears acquired this beautiful piece of land from the City of Charleston and renamed it Mountain View Memorial Park. To ensure perpetual care, Mr. Sears established a trust fund that is diligently managed by a local bank. His vision was to create a cemetery that would provide a well-groomed sanctuary for families to remember their loved ones. Today, we continue his legacy by maintaining strict regulations regarding interments, memorials, and floral arrangements.

As you explore our cemetery, you will discover that it is divided into four distinct sections, each with its own unique charm. Section One, located at the top, houses some of the earliest interments and holds a special historical significance. The Garden of Memories, nestled at the heart of our grounds, offers a peaceful and serene environment for remembrance. Our largest section, The Sanctuary, located at the bottom, provides ample space for upright memorialization, whether it be a single grave or a family estate lot. For those who prefer above-ground entombment, The Mausoleum Terrace offers an exclusive space. Mausoleums are also permitted in other sections. Additionally, we offer a beautiful Columbarium of Serenity with 40 individual niches for the interment of cremains.
