Join us in commemorating their lives at the upcoming Celebration of Life event, which will take place from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Moose Lodge, located at 527 Erie Street in Storm Lake, Iowa.

In remembrance of their cherished presence, a Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the serene Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa.

Farber & Otteman Funeral Home has been an esteemed presence in the community since its establishment in 1943. The untimely demise of Mr. A.G. Neal led to the acquisition of his business by Arlin Otteman of Sac City and Charles L. Farber of Lake City.

Recognizing the need for enhanced efficiency and contemporary equipment, Mr. Farber and Mr. Otteman realized the immense value of serving multiple locations and optimizing the use of resources across various funeral homes. This vision led to the establishment of Farber & Otteman Funeral Homes in Schaller, Storm Lake, Lake View, Newell, and Wall Lake, with the Odebolt location following suit in 1965.

With Mr. Farber's retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Otteman acquired his interest in the funeral homes and dedicated their efforts to serving the community for many years. In 1980, a corporation was formed, consisting of Arlin E. Otteman as President, J. Richard Seger as Vice President, Roderick G. Sorensen as Secretary, and Ronald J. Nelson as Treasurer. Together, they operated these esteemed funeral homes.
